A Glimmer Of Hope

Well, folks, here we are. The holidays are behind us and the holiday pies, cookies, candies, pastries and olives are now amongst our behinds.

The real work starts now(ish).

One last thank you to all the love, support and donated goods and funds that Sunny and I have been receiving, and we'll move on.

THANK YOU!!!!!

So, since our respective returns to LA LA land, Sunny & I have started a rigorous conditioning schedule.

Finding a husband training:

Once a week (so far) we go to see 1 chick flick, (I can't actually believe I'm admitting to this and if you ever ask me about this to my face I will always deny my love of terrible terrible romance movies). We consider this research on what not to do when looking for husbands.

This week's movie: Leap Year.

Things we learned: Having a sexy accent is enough to outweigh horrible facial hair decisions and not quite enough to override really terrible writing.

Things to avoid: Leap Year, the movie. Although most of the men in there are bound to be leaving their girlfriends soon simply for taking them to see Leap Year. I suggest you stand outside the theatre and hand out business cards with the slogan "I would never do this to you."

Balance and Coordination Training:

Sunny has acquired the wondrous Wii Fit 2.0 on which we are now both registered. My Mii has orange glasses. They are great. I wish I had them to wear to the gym in real life.

Sunny, a natural athlete, does much better at balance than just about everyone else we know.

I, about as naturally coordinated as a piece of toast, help by looking absolutely ridiculous while attempting to walk in place and move my arms up and down at the same time. If you're wondering what this helps, it's Sunny's abs, which always get a better burn from laughing at me. It also provides free entertainment to Diva Thin Muffin (not his real name), Sunny's Roommate.

Quick aside: Diva Thin Muffin (DTM for short) might be signing up as a roadie for ALC9. This would be AWESOME *hint hint*

Bike Riding:

We'll get there. We have the bikes. We have the shorts. We have the bells, the multitools, the camelbacks (Thanks, BTW!), the shoes and the all important Road Rides of So Cal book and pocket guide to fixing your bike. Now, all we need is more sleep and more time. HA!

HIV Testing:

My annual HIV/STD test is scheduled for March 3rd. It's a new year and time to get it done folks, so schedule your tests today! Check out FreeHIVTest.net for more CA focused resources! Call your doctors! Do what you need to do to get 'er done!

Encouraging Fact of the Week:

Inside sources (one of my employees who was a roadie for ALC8) disclosed actual knowledge of a woman who found a boyfriend (yes you read correctly) on the ride last year. The couple, as far as this story is concerned, is still together. Glimmer of hope much?
